Lapidary Journal 1999-2021
After 2008, the magazine really leaned into the Jewelry Artist name and became less relevant to the lapidary world and primarily focused on articles pertaining to jewelry making.

2006: Sometime towards the end of 2006, October I believe, is when the magazine was sold from Primedia to Interweave Press. However, the rebranding of the magazine didn’t take place until the following year.

2007: This is the year that Lapidary Journal was rebranded. More specifically, June, which was issue 631 of the Lapidary Journal, is the issue where they started to minimize the words “Lapidary Journal” on the cover in favor of the new name, Jewelry Artist.

2009: Interweave had digital copies of the magazine on their website for sale starting from 2006 to the end in 2021. I’m going to include these digital copies of the covers here for the sake of completion of the archive and at some point in the future I will scan the covers of my person copies.

2011: This year marks the first reduction of issues from the 12 monthly issues to 9 issues as they combined January and February, May and June, as well as September and October into combined issues. I assume this was done to reduce costs.

2021: I guess this is a relatively fitting end to the saga of The Lapidary Journal, as it was started in 1947 with four issues, and it ended with four issues. They published for 74 years and made 758 issues.
