Tools: If you want to try and work garnets out of the host rock, you should bring a 3lb sledge and chisels, but we have the best results with a 1/4 screen and a small shovel as well as just walking around searching the surface.

Additional comments: The garnets here are well-formed and seem to range in size from 1/4″ to 1″ but I have heard from a few people that some larger ones have been found, but no photos were provided to me.
