Manresa Grotto
We’ve visited the Manresa Grotto many times. It’s located near the town of Usk, WA and is a short drive off of the highway through the area.
It’s cave-like but technically a rock shelter because it was formed by waves from Glacial Lake Clark hitting the rock shore. The cave area is 60 feet long and 25 feet high. It’s worth a visit if one is nearby and would make a good complement to a visit to the Gardner Cave to the north.
The cave is a popular site for graffiti as seen in one of the photos below. Over the years people have carved their names and the date into the cave walls which can be interesting to inspect. If approaching from the south keep an eye out for the Kalispel Tribe’s buffalo herd near the Camas Center on the east side of the river.
