Description
The Intarsia Fence 2.0 is specifically designed for the Hi-Tech Diamond 8″ flat lap and allows you to grind perfect 90° angles for stone intarsia. You can also attach angle fixtures (sold separately) to this fence, which allows for a precise angle to be ground into a stone.
The fence is constructed of high-quality 304 stainless steel and assembled with stainless hardware. It comes with stainless PEM hardware pressed into both the top and side of the fence, which allows for different angle fixtures to be attached. The fence is held firmly in place with two sliding clamps, which are not included.

As someone who is still learning and practicing intarsia, I highly recommend this fence for anyone who owns a Hi-Tech Diamond 8-inch Flat Lap. One of the biggest challenges I faced was consistently grinding perfectly straight 90-degree faces on my stones. Even when I thought I was holding everything correctly, I would often end up with an angle that was just slightly off.
I also used to have issues where the stone would occasionally catch on the lap and cause the edge to roll, creating extra work and frustration. Since adding the Intarsia Fence, those problems have been greatly reduced. It provides a stable, consistent reference surface that makes it much easier to achieve accurate results and build confidence while learning.
The construction is solid, installation was straightforward, and it has become one of my favorite accessories for the Hi-Tech Diamond 8-inch Flat Lap. If you’re interested in intarsia work, whether you’re a beginner or have more experience, I think this is a worthwhile upgrade that makes the process much more enjoyable.
